Abraham: Father of the Faithful
In the Old Testament, Abraham is regarded as the head of the covenant line, which is personified in the house of Israel. He is often called the “father of the faithful.” Abraham received the gospel through baptism, or the covenant of salvation. The higher priesthood was conferred upon him, and he entered into celestial marriage, the covenant of exaltation, gaining assurance that he would have eternal increase. He received a promise that these same blessings would be offered to his mortal posterity. The divine promises to Abraham assured that Christ would come through his lineage and that Abraham’s posterity would receive certain lands as an eternal inheritance. These promises are called the Abrahamic covenant.
Heavenly Father’s children who are of non-Israelite lineage can be adopted into the house of Israel, becoming heirs of the covenant and the seed of Abraham through the ordinances of the gospel. (See Bible Dictionary, “Abraham,” 601; and “Abraham, Covenant of,” 602.)

An Angel Saves Abraham
An Angel Saves Abraham, by Del Parson. “And it came to pass that the priests laid violence upon me, that they might slay me. … “And as they lifted up their hands upon me, that they might offer me up and take away my life, behold, I lifted up my voice unto the Lord my God, and the Lord hearkened and heard, … and the angel of his presence stood by me, and immediately unloosed my bands” (Abr. 1:12, 15).

The Lord Appearing unto Abraham
The Lord Appearing unto Abraham, by Keith Larson. Melchizedek Blesses Abram
Melchizedek Blesses Abram, by Walter Rane. And [Abraham] gave him tithes of all” (Gen. 14:19–20).

Isaac and Family

Abraham Taking Isaac to Be Sacrificed, by Del Parson. “And it came to pass after these things, that God … said unto … Abraham: … “… Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering. … “And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took … Isaac his son, … and went unto the place of which God had told him. … “And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. “And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. “And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me” (Gen. 22:1–3, 10–12).

Rebekah at the Well
Rebekah at the Well, by Michael Deas. Isaac Blessing Jacob
Isaac Blessing Jacob, by Gustave Doré. Rebekah, mother of twin sons Esau and Jacob, helped Jacob prepare to receive the birthright blessing that Esau esteemed so lightly (see Gen. 25:29–34). Isaac, in poor health and with failing eyesight, blessed Jacob in Esau’s place. “And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out … that Esau his brother came in from his hunting. … And [Isaac] said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing” (Gen. 27:30, 35).

Israel Blesses Ephraim with the Birthright
Israel Blesses Ephraim with the Birthright, by Keith Larson. When Jacob blessed Joseph’s two sons, Joseph brought Manasseh, his firstborn, to Jacob’s right and Ephraim, the second born, to Jacob’s left. “And Israel [Jacob] stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn. … “And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, … he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head. “And Joseph said … , Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn. … “And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he” (Gen. 48:14, 17–19).

Sons of Abraham – Ibrahim in the Holy Koran

Remember that Abraham was tested by his Lord with certain commands, and he fulfilled all of them. Allah said, "I will make you an imam for the people." He said, "And also my descendants?" He said, "My covenant does not include the oppressors (Zâlimûn)."

We have made the Ka`abaa pilgrimage for the mankind, and a safe sanctuary. You may use Abraham’s Ka`aba  as a prayer house. We imposed a duty upon  Abraham and Ismail: "You shall purify My house for those who are circulating meditating, bowing down and prostrating in prayers.

Remember, when Abraham prayed: "My Lord, make this city a city of peace, and from among its people who believe in Allâh and the Last Day, give them all kinds of fruits as provisions."   In response, Allah  said, "I will also provide for those who disbelieve. I will let them enjoy, temporarily, then commit them to the retribution of Hell, and a miserable destiny."

Remember Abraham and Ismail raised the foundations of the Ka`aba with this prayer, "Our Lord, accept this service from us, You are the All-Hearing, the All-knowing.”
Dan ketika Ibrahim meninggikan dasar-dasar Baitullah bersama Ismail "Ya Tuhan kami terimalah daripada kami, sesungguhnya Engkaulah Yang Maha Mendengar lagi Maha Mengetahui".                002.127

Who would dislike the way of life of Abraham, except one who has indulged himself in stupidity and ignorance? We have chosen Abraham in this world, and in the Hereafter he will be with the righteous.

This was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did  Jacob: "O my sons, Allah has chosen this way of life for you.  Therefore remain Muslim till the time of death."
(Ibrahim berkata): "Hai anak-anakku! Sesungguhnya Allah telah memilih agama ini bagimu, maka janganlah kamu mati kecuali dalam memeluk agama Islam".                                                                                                              002.132

Say, "We believe in Allah, and in what was sent down to us, and in what was sent down to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and all the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them and to Him alone we submit."
Do you say that  Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, all of them were Jewish or Christian? Say, "Do you know better or Allah? Who is more evil than one who conceals a testimony he has learned from Allah and he hides it ? Allah is never unaware of what you do."
Abrahamsaid: "I am going to my Lord; He will guide me."

O my Lord, , grant me righteous children."
Wahai Tuhanku! 037.100

(In response to his prayer) We gave him the good news of a sober boy.

When that boy was old enough to work with him then Abraham said to him: "O my son, I saw a dream that I am slaughtering you in sacrifice, now tell me, what is your opinion”?  He said:  "O my father, do as you are commanded to do, if Allâh wanted  you will find me among the patients."

Finally, when they both submitted and  Abraham laid his son down on the face.
Setelah keduanya berserah bulat-bulat dan Nabi Ibrahim merebahkan anaknya dengan meletakkan iringan mukanya di atas tompok tanah,                                                                                                             037.103

And We called "O Abraham,
Serta Kami menyerunya: Wahai Ibrahim!                                                                                         037.104

You have proven the dream to be true."  We give such reward to those who do the righteous deeds.

Certainly, it was a clear test”.
Sesungguhnya perintah ini adalah satu ujian yang nyata;                                                                 037.106

And We ransomed that child (Ismail) by substituting an animal sacrifice.
Dan Kami tebus anaknya itu dengan seekor binatang sembelihan yang besar;                                037.107

And left his praise and honesty among the subsequent generations.
Dan Kami kekalkan baginya dalam kalangan orang-orang yang datang kemudian:                          037.108

Salutation, peace be upon  Abraham
Salam sejahtera kepada Nabi Ibrahim!.                                                                                             037.109

We give such reward to those who do righteous deeds
Demikianlah Kami membalas orang-orang yang berusaha mengerjakan kebaikan.                          037.110

Certainly, he was one of Our believing servants.

Then We gave him the good news about the birth of Isaac, to be one of the righteous prophets.
